Yesterday, I ran a discovery workshop with a fantastic guy from Canada, Noam.
This ambitious entrepreneur wants to significantly impact consumerism worldwide by giving power and knowledge to the consumers.
He created an app that has the ambition to allow you to check the sustainability of every brand you know with a strong will of using only very objective metrics. Allowing you to make an informed choice when you decide to buy something.
This would lead people to buy more sustainably and big ventures to soften their negative impact. A bit like what’s happening with YUKA but with every sector. Now, You can see food brands making their product healthier to better their score on YUKA.
To be impactful, this app would need at least hundreds of thousands of users.
Even if the main features of the app are free, it is still a great challenge. With pure intentions and a lot of motivation, anything is possible but...
There is one problem. All the focus right now is on the app and it needs to be shifted
The app is just a tool serving the purpose of this company. The core of this project is the people. The people who will gather around the same values of respect for the world & transparency. This movement has the potential for long-lasting change. Not the app itself. The focus needs to be shifted towards creating a community of like-minded people. Then equip them with the tools they need to achieve their will to create a more sustainable world.
“ The product they make no longer serves as the reason to buy. It serves as the tangible proof of their cause.” - Simon Sinek
